The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre Emergency Department (ED) averages 300 patient visits/day and is one of Canada's busiest EDs. The ED is an academic centre, that trains CCFP-EM residents through their affiliation with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM). The facility is a designated regional trauma centre with a 30 bed ICU, cath lab, stroke, regional Base Hospital and in-patient pediatric programs - It is a great place to practice the full scope of Emergency Medicine!

Supervision:
Residents will be assigned a rotation supervisor who will orient you to the ED and attend your first shift. Subsequent shifts will be scheduled so that locum residents are always working alongside at least two other experienced physicians. Your supervisor or a delegate will also be available throughout your rotation for further clinical and administrative support.

Min Requirement:
PGY 4 or 5 currently enrolled in an FRCP Emergency Medicine residency training program in Ontario.

Remuneration:
$1800 per shift. Airfare, car rental and accommodation costs are also covered. Thunder Bay is easily accessible by multiple, daily, direct 2 hr flights from Toronto via Porter, Air Canada and Westjet.
